Want to help students better understand how to navigate tricky ethical situations? Consider writing a case on an ethical issue for the annual Carl Menconi Ethics Case Writing Competition, sponsored by IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants).
The competition, named after the former Chair of IMA’s Committee on Ethics, aims to publish teaching cases that focus on business ethics through the lens of management accounting and finance issues.
It’s open to accounting and finance practitioners and academics, as well as students. Joint submissions from more than one contributor are encouraged.
The winning case will be selected by IMA’s Committee on Ethics and featured in Strategic Finance. The case author (or authors) will receive each a free registration to the IMA 2025 Accounting & Finance Conference (IMA25), to be held June 22-25, 2025, at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. Additionally, the winning case will win a $500 cash prize.
Submissions must reference the IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice. Read up on the submission guidelines here.
The deadline to submit an entry is January 20, 2025, so get your entries in soon. To submit, visit the case submissions page.
