Amer Al Ahbabi is a distinguished financial strategist and corporate leader with extensive expertise in governance, risk management, and business transformation. He began his career in internal audit and financial oversight, holding key roles in compliance, performance auditing, and corporate governance. As internal audit manager at the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) and ADVETI, he established and led the internal audit function, ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing institutional governance. His ability to drive financial integrity and strategic decision-making has positioned him as a trusted leader in the field.

Amer joined the IMA Global Board in 2025 and is one of the first representatives from the UAE to hold this position. He also is a member of the IMA Middle East and Africa Regional Advisory Committee and president of the IMA Abu Dhabi Chapter.

In addition to being a CMA, Amer is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, an Accredited Financial Analyst, and a Certified Compliance Auditor.
